Yes, my apple pie is about 8-10 inches tall before we put her in the oven. About 10-12 cups of apples. I use a crumble topping.
I use 3 (or more) types of apples. You definitely need a sour apple (granny smith is my favorite). I also like Honeycrisp, pink lady, and gala.
There’s no wrong combination, just what you like!
