LIVING IN FLAGLER BEACH
Flagler Beach is a somewhat small coastal city (i.e. on the ocean, a bay, or inlet) located in the state of Florida. With a population of 5,160 people and three constituent neighborhoods, Flagler Beach is the 281st largest community in Florida.
Housing costs here are among some of the highest in the nation, although real estate prices here don’t compare to real estate prices in the most expensive communities in Florida.
Telecommuters are a relatively large percentage of the workforce: 18.77% of people work from home. While this number may seem small overall, as a fraction of the total workforce it is high relative to the nation. At-home workers may be self-employed people who operate small businesses out of their homes.
Flagler Beach is also nautical, which means that parts of it are somewhat historic and touch the ocean or tidal bodies of water, such as inlets, springs, rivers and bays. Quite often, nautical areas such as these attract visitors and locals who come to enjoy the scenery and various waterfront activities.
Blue Spring designated the Manatee Refuge and the winter home to a growing population of West Indian Manatees. Enjoy seasonal swimming, fishing, snorkeling, scuba diving, canoe rentals, narrated river cruises, kayak tours and rentals, walking trails, a snack bar, picnic pavilions, outdoor grills, paddling boarding, and more. Blue Spring State Park frequently reaches capacity during the week and on the weekends, during both the winter and summer months.
