This July, we had the amazing opportunity to host an exchange student from Spain, Malen, through the Step In Florida program. It was our very first time hosting, and we absolutely loved it! We spent the month making memories, laughing, and learning from each other—and we’d definitely do it again. Here’s a little recap of our adventures:

From the very beginning, Malen and Remington (our “Agent in Training”) became fast friends. 🐾

A trip to Starbucks was on Malen’s list—so of course Remington joined in for his first pup cup! Video 🎥

We celebrated the Fourth of July with a backyard cookout and friends. Remington got SUPER dirty, and later we watched fireworks together on the beach. 🎆

One afternoon was all about baking—cookies and spanakopita! Malen even brought cookies home to share with her family. She also cooked us dinner one evening. Video 🎥

We attended a beautiful church service on the beach.

We spent fun-filled days at Universal Studios and SeaWorld. 🎢🐬

We caught a showing of Jurassic Park at the theater.

For thrills, Malen braved the Slingshot and Vomatron rides in Daytona Beach. Video 🎥

On her last evening, she wanted to swim in the pool at night—so we lit it up just for her! ✨💦
There’s no way to capture everything in one post, but we are so grateful for the memories. We believe this is the start of a lifelong friendship with Malen. ❤️
